Mission
The mission of the HBS Club of India is to advance the mutual welfare of HBS and alumni/ae in India by:
• Providing opportunities for alumni/ae to remain connected to the School and to each other;
• Encouraging life-long learning, intellectual enrichment, professional growth and social interaction;
• Providing opportunities for alumni/ae to meet and serve as advocates, helping to promote and elevate the school’s stature within the community;
• And, attracting the world's most talented individuals to Harvard Business School,
Organization
The club organization is comprised of a core managing committee responsible for all day-to-day affairs and administration of the club and support of approved local city chapters. City Chapter teams are responsible for recruiting city members and participation in in planned events.
No funds, sponsorship money or membership fees are collected at a city chapter level. All payments to the club are made to the official legal entity, Harvard Business School Club of India, registered with the government of India and supervised by independent auditors.
Managing Committee Functions
• Developing Club program/activity calendar;
• Deliver member communications and managing the website;
• Collect and manage all funds including membership dues/sponsorship monies
• Developing membership benefits and privileges;
• Manage all club administrative and secretarial functions;
• Ensure adherence HBS brand guidelines across India and city chapters;
• Approve Chapter organizations and appoint Chapter Teams;
• Manage nominations process for all Club Officers;
• Organize and execute the Annual General Meeting for members;
• Serve as primary point of contact with the Harvard Business School & India Research Centre
• Select, appoint and engage all club advisory board members and city chapter teams l
City Chapter Team Functions
• Secure local venue and F&B logistics for minimum # of program/activities
• Proactively recruit new members and renewal of existing members
• Proactively encourage members to attend Annual General Meeting/Gala
• Organize monthly and/or quarterly HBS social events
• Be point of contact for MBA candidates and new Exec Ed candidates locally
• Meet monthly and coordinate with Managing Committee on program calendar
• Submit local updates for HBS club website
